Secluded among coastal redwoods just inland from the shores of Monterey
Bay below Santa Cruz, Monte Toyon is an inviting and versatile gathering
place for groups of 30-146. It can accommodate 200 for daytime conferences
and special events.
Helgesson Hall
, a light, spacious building with beamed ceiling and wood floor, lends
itself to large group activities. It consists of a central assembly area
with stage and seating for up to 250, plus an adjacent small meeting area.
Additional meeting space is available in nearby
Hollidge Hall
(shown in picture above), or in the quiet, hillside setting of
Silverthorn Chapel
, with indoor/outdoor meeting and worship space for 50 or more. The
Main Dining Hall
, which offers buffet meal service for up to 200, also converts to large
meeting areas.
Two-story overnight accommodations in Cary Lodge
include 16 four-person rooms and three two-person rooms, serving a total
of 70 guests. A cozy lounge is located on the first floor with shower and
restroom facilities on each floor. Miller and Morris

, in a sunlit clearing nearby, house 76 in nine guest rooms.
Camp facilities also include an outdoor amphitheater, two campfire circles,
a playfield, volleyball and basketball courts, the spectacular Sumner Rhododendron
Garden and hiking trails (see Camp Map)
. Other options are visits to famed Monterey Bay Aquarium, ocean beaches
and boardwalk below Santa Cruz, or local museums and historic missions.
