The Sumner Rhododendron Garden
This extraordinary rhododendron garden was started in 1963 by Maurice and Frances Sumner, and represents over 600 hybrids. It is the largest private garden with the most varieties in the United States. A well-established garden with plants gathered from around the world, it has won many awards, the most prestigious being the American Award for Excellence and a Merit Award from the Horticulture Society of England.
