Aux Arc Park (South Park)

Good overnight place

Aux Arc Campground is a good 1-2 night location. Campsites are spacious and easy to access. Electric and water at the site - dump station available on the way out. Many of the sites have covered picnic areas that would come in handy in the heat of the season. We camped at Aux Arc with our 31' 5th wheel at site F1 alongside the Arkansas river in September 2020. Aux Arc is a COE property built alongside a hydroelectric dam and lock. That being said, there is not much to do at or near this campground if you are looking for activity, except fishing (not sure how good fishing is). There are frequent trains across the river that are fairly noisy but we actually got used to them. There seem to be a fair number of locals using this facility. I would say this is a good overnight or two night stop - the town of Ozark is right nearby and you can restock on food, do laundry and catch a bite to eat in town (we had some pretty good BBQ from Rivertowne BBQ). Our rating is heavily influenced by the lack of hiking and activities.
