About Ponderosa State Park

Ponderosa State Park stretches over a 1,000-acre peninsula that rises from beautiful Payette Lake near McCall. The scenic views from Osprey Point offer spectacular lake views, and the park offers a variety of hiking and cycling trails, as well as guided walks and picnics.

The topography ranges from dry sawblade areas to dense forests and the North Beach Unit with its overgrown beach and picnic areas.

The most striking tree species are pine, oak, elm, birch, pine and pineapple, all native to the area.

The park also has a variety of wild flowers, shrubs, grasses, ferns, cacti and other plants. Winter activities include a USSA-certified cross-country skiing course, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Animal displays in the parks include birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds of prey, reptiles and mammals.

The park is characterized by its diverse topography, ranging from dry saw blades to wooded watercourses, and the park is rich in wild flowers, especially along interpretative paths that wind through the moors. Nature trails and gravel roads have been developed to allow visitors to observe the wildlife in these areas.

Ponderosa State Park cabins can be booked year round and each unit is equipped with a bunk bed, futon, table and chair. These accommodations can accommodate four people and can accommodate up to four people. They have a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, shower and washing machine, and an outdoor fireplace.

Inside there is an electric light heated with propane, and you can cook on the stove, as well as heat the cottage with a stove with hob.
