About Miller-Anderson Woods State Nature Preserve
The largest of these reserves includes natural communities that are part of the Miller-Anderson Woods State Natural Reserve, the oldest growing highland forest in the United States. The largest part of the steep slope consists of maple bush forest, which occurs in an eroding gorge.
The already lush vegetation, the newly acquired communities of maple bush and maple trees give the already lush vegetation a unique character.
Notable plants include striking orchids and Schreber's aster, and the Ohio Buckeye Queen prairie is also available.
