The Rough River Dam is surrounded by rolling countryside overlooking a 5,000-acre lake, and the state's best fishing opportunities are in the deep waters of the Rough River. Non-anglers can enjoy the lake from the pontoon or scurry to the shore for a few hours for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and boating.

Enjoy the history and folklore of the area at the Pine Knob Theatre, which offers open-air performances from June to September. The resort also hosts a variety of events, including the annual Rough River Festival, and the Falls of Rough Room is available as a modern meeting facility and lodge. This room can be used for conference and banquet facilities with 400 seats. Just a few miles from the park is the state's only state-of-the-art hiking and cycling trail network, the Rough Valley Trail.

Completed comfort: Seventeen two-bedroom cottages are located in the woods around the lake.

Relax in a cozy cottage, but don't keep or allow pets or camp in one of the seventeen secluded amenities.

Holiday homes are available in the late afternoon, but only for a limited number of hours a day and only on weekends and holidays. Crockery, cooking utensils and bed linen are provided daily with fresh linen, fresh water and fresh fruit.

The lodge with beautiful lake views increases the attractiveness of Rough River Dam Lodge; all 40 rooms overlook the lake and have their own courtyards and balconies. All rooms are available in the late afternoon, but only for a limited number of hours a day and only on weekends and holidays.

Rough River Lake is the perfect place for water sports, and the pool is available to guests of the lodge and cottages. Enjoy the public beach with bathhouse and a private beach with pool, picnic tables, picnic area and hot tub.

Passionate anglers can enjoy scenic views of the Rough River Dam State Resort Park and lake. The harbor offers a variety of activities, from kayaking and boating to swimming and snorkeling, slippers - covered, kayaking and paddle boarding.

The lodge, the marina and the holiday home area are connected by a 1.5 km long hiking trail. The Army Corps of Engineers maintains a self-guided nature trail on federal land adjacent to the park.

Lakeside follows the picturesque river and lakefront promenade of Rough River Dam State Resort Park.

An outdoor amphitheater has been built on the former parking lot of Rough River Dam State Resort Park. From the park entrance to the lake shore, a 2.5 km long hiking trail runs along the waterfront.

Performances are presented live on stage, and for large groups no reservation is required, but for smaller groups reservations can be made.

Enter the park at the exit of US-60 southbound and follow the signs to the Head south on KY-79 in Hardinsburg, exit onto Western Kentucky Parkway. Take the exit from KY / 79 north of Caneyville onto Western Kentucky Highway and drive south to the entrance to Rough River Dam State Resort Park.
