About Lowell-Dracut State Forest
The forest covers 1,140 hectares, including 180 hectares of ponds, marshes and wetlands, and is located in three cities. It was acquired by extracting granite from canals, factories and foundations and there are a total of 1.5 million cubic meters of granite in the forest.
The forest has a six-kilometre hiking trail, which offers a picturesque view of the town of Lowell - Dracut and its surroundings, as well as a number of lakes and wetlands.
Lowell - Dracut - Tyngsboro State Forest is located in northeastern Massachusetts and hunting is permitted during the season.
Take Rte. Follow signs and follow them to Exit 5N, then follow signs on the right side of the road to the Lowell - Dracut - Tyngsboro State Forest exit. Take Rtes. Take Exits 5A and 5B to Lowell, then the sign on the left and take Exit 4A to Taunton.
