About Leelanau State Park

The word Leelanau is an Indian word for "land of joy" and could not describe this area better. The Petrokey Rock is located along the coast and the park has a variety of natural features such as sand dunes, waterfalls, rock formations, beaches, cliffs, lakes, rivers and streams, as well as a large number of wildlife habitats. With over 1,300 acres of parkland waiting for visitors, you will be greeted by the beautiful beauty of Leelsanaunau State Park, located on the west coast of New York State, north of Manhattan.

The park offers a variety of activities such as hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, camping, hiking and fishing and much more.

The terrain is a mixture of open scrubland and old deciduous forest, mixed with open meadows. Mud Lake offers some of the best fishing, and the park crosses a number of rivers, lakes, streams, rivers and streams, as well as streams and lakes. There are various possibilities for camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and camping.

Smaller sections of the trail are accessible to the public, including the Mud Lake Trail, Mud Creek Trail and Mud River Trail.

Visit the restored Grand Traverse Lighthouse during your visit - The lighthouse is operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
