About Anaconda Smelter Stack State Park
The Anaconda Copper Company's old smelter, completed on May 5, 1919, is a 2,500-foot diameter, detached brick building. The inner diameter is 1,200 m and the outer 2.5 feet, and it is visible only from a distance. The park itself is not accessible, but the pile is only visible at a distance of about 3 km from its original location.
The Anaconda Stack lookout is located at the top of the mountain, about 1,500 feet above sea level.
The site is 12 hectares and 1.50 meters high. In AnAConda there is a golf course and a museum. It is registered in the National Register of Historic Sites as a National Historic Landmark, the largest of its kind in the United States.
The site borders Goodman Park, but is closed to the viewing and interpretation area and the Anaconda Stack Museum.
