About Rosebud Battlefield State Park
The biggest battle ever fought in the United States, the Battle of Rosebud, set the stage for eight days later when the US Army and its allies annihilated the Indians at Little Bighorn. The use of metal detectors is limited and digging, collecting, removing artifacts and cycling are only allowed on existing roads.
Pets are on a leash and visitors are advised to be aware of rattlesnakes in the area and other animals such as coyotes, coyotes, foxes and wolves.
Rosebud Battlefield State Park is located on the west side of the Yellowstone River, about 30 miles south of Yellowstone National Park. Sheridan, Wyoming, is 46 miles southeast, and the area is undeveloped, with a population of about 1,500 people and a total of 2.5 million acres.
