About Niobrara State Park
Niobrara State Park is located on the Niobrara and Missouri rivers and offers visitors the opportunity to experience a wide range of outdoor experiences. In this exceptional park you can camp, hike, cycle, canoe, kayak, fish and do other outdoor activities with a camper or tent.
The diversity of bird life ranges from majestic eagles to tiny chickens and beetles, beavers, muskrats and minks roam the banks and wild turkeys roam freely around huts and tents. A large population of white deer - the park is home to the tail deer and the song of the whip - joins the coyote's call for a nocturnal serenade.
Niobrara State Park Cottage is perched on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Missouri River Valley. The abundance of nature is easy to recognize when you drive the seven-kilometer-long road through the park or walk along the 14-kilometer-long hiking trail. For nature lovers, Niobsara offers a great opportunity to observe many native species in their natural habitat.
Each cabin is air conditioned and heated, and there are 12 twin, seven and three-bed rooms, each with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, bathroom, laundry, shower and laundry room. The cabins are air-conditioned, heated and have their own shower, toilet, bath, kitchen and bathroom.
Niobrara State Park offers beautiful campsites nestled in the hills overlooking the confluence of the Niobara and Missouri rivers. For RVers, Niobsara offers four cabins with a total of 12 twin, seven and three-bed rooms, each with its own shower, toilet, bathtub, kitchen and bathroom. Each cottage has its own kitchen, dining area, bathroom, laundry, shower and laundry room. Other facilities include a campsite with picnic tables, a picnic area and picnic table, and a water fountain.
In the northern part of the park, where there are excellent cat catching opportunities, you can catch catfish in the Niobara River, as well as in the Missouri River and other rivers.
The campground also has play equipment for small children and a playground for children from 5 years. Reservations are accepted for all 50 modern campsites, and reservations start at 9 a.m. each year. Reservations are accepted 1 year before arrival date, but not more than 2 years before arrival date.
The camp stretches along a one-way street that winds through the heart of the park, from the northern end to the southern end of Niobrara Road.
Backpackers will also find Adirondack accommodations, and tenants will be equipped with a barbecue and a fire ring on the ground floor. Many of the sights are located on elevated hills bordered by the Niobrara River. Cedars are rampant in the park, as they are in many other parts of New York State Park.
Barbecue and picnic areas are located in various locations along one-way streets. Picnic huts on high hills in the park offer spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, and barbecue dogs on the highest hills in the parks offer spectacular views.
Located in the old town of Niobrara, the park has a three-boat marina on the Missouri River, and you can spend a few hours lolling in the water while fishing in a nearby river. Niobsara State Park hosts Buffalo cookouts and offers a variety of activities, from horseback riding led by rangers to hiking along 14 miles of trails.
The Verdel site is located eight miles upstream from the toilet, and the ferry pier is at the top of the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in the Niobrara National Forest.
The J. Alan Cramer Interpretive Center offers exceptional views of the park and highlights the people and places that have played a key role in the history of the region, including the history of the Ponca Indians. Visitors can also visit the site of Mosasaurus palentologico, a significant find as it is the largest fossil of its kind found in Nebraska. Other attractions include the Niobrara National Forest and the Standing Rock Sioux Reserve. Next to the parks is the Bazile Creek Wildlife Management Area, which offers opportunities to observe wildlife, fish, boats and hunt during the season.
The city of Niobrara offers a variety of restaurants, shops, hotels and other amenities, as well as a number of public parks. For directions, ask the park office for directions or contact the Visitor Center at (402) 543-8500 for information.
The popular Niobrara River is located near the town of Valentine, NE, and the town of Omaha is located just a few miles west of the park entrance on Highway 12. If you are traveling from Omaha on I-29 in Sioux, take Highway 20 South to the entrance and then head west on Highway 12 to the visitor center. Niobsara State Park should not be confused with the nearby Niobsara National Wildlife Refuge, a national park in Nebraska, but located in a separate park within Sioux County, Nebraska.
