About Turtle River State Park
The park was built in the 1930s by the Civil Protection Service and is located in a wooded valley with meandering turtles and a river. The park offers a variety of activities including hiking, cycling, canoeing, kayaking and fishing, as well as water sports.
Anglers can also practice their fly fishing techniques on trout stocks or practice fly fishing. US Highway 2 will take you from Grand Forks West to the park entrance at the northern end of Turtle River State Park and then a few miles south to Lake Superior.
