This property is located 3 miles northwest of Windsor, in Wolf Creek and Eagle Creek, with unique views of the surrounding communities and surrounding area. The complex includes a carefully maintained local forest and a sparkling expanse of the lake from which you can swim or just go bobsleigh. You can also take a leisurely walk through the nearby forest, swim in the lake, visit a small, friendly, wooded campsite or take part in an action on the lakes.

You will almost always have a beautiful view of Wolf Creek and Eagle Creek, as well as the nearby towns of Windsor, Windsor - Windsor and Windsor.

The Flood Control Act of 1958 approved the Shelbyville Reservoirs Project, which included dam construction and lake creation. But even mundane necessities would allow the leisure activities outlined above. The Wolf Creek and Eagle Creek sites are many such areas, and parts of the park have been cleared of physical barriers and are accessible to disabled visitors.

The property, which was located west of the canal and surrounded by a steep slope to the east of the river floor, had to be cleared and levelled. Of course, this was a monumental undertaking: the old Shelby power plant was demolished, two gas and oil pipeline routes were diverted, and several old mines in the area were completely relocated. Construction of the $56 million project began in May 1963, but the Shelbyville Dam was completed just a few months later, in August 1964.

It is 3,025 feet long and has reinforced concrete gates that control the outlet that manipulates the water level and controls the water flow from the creek to the main outlet of the dam, the Shelbyville River. The dam itself is bordered by a mound of earth rising from the original creek bed.

Much of the work has been done by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, but the land has been administered by the federal government as the state of Illinois since a long-term lease began in 1968. In 1972, the area was opened to the public and offered primitive tents, and in the years since the state purchased additional surrounding land and made Wolf Creek a well-maintained and managed nature and recreational area, it has been a relaxing haven for hikers, mountain bikers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

Class A campsites with toilets, showers, electricity and picnic tables and Class C campsites with toilets, showers and picnic tables. There are also classes A, B, C, D, F, G, H, I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV and XV. About 140 areas in the Lick Creek area have also been designated as reserves. Reservation requests will be accepted until January for places reserved from May 1st to October 31st.

In the south - in the western part of the park - there is a well-developed beach, open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 1st to October 31st. There are lifeguards, so treat the whole family to a day at the beach, but be careful and stay in the buoy area. Pets, food and drinks are not allowed on the sand, and alcohol is not allowed when entering the beach areas from the main entrance.

Nearby there are all kinds of water sports, picnic tables and barbecues, and you can also swim, boating, snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, fishing or do other water sports.

Boat and motor boat rentals are available in several private marinas along the lake, which also offer a complete range of boating and fishing equipment. The ridge and hundreds of tributaries that flow into Lake Shelbyville provide a world-class fishing area that is productive. Some species have special catch and size limits, so ask your site manager about fishing opportunities and rules. This lake is teeming with shallow water catfish, bluefish, redfish and other small fish, as well as some trout species and a variety of small mouthfuls.

Wolf Creek State Park has picnic areas for families with picnic tables, picnic benches and a variety of outdoor activities for children.

The Lost Shelter picnic area is a remote scenic area and can be used without reservation. Both areas are equipped with disabled accommodations, so Wolf Creek State Park has everything you need for a great trip, with picnic tables, picnic benches and picnic tables.

Wolf Creek offers a scenic 15-mile horseback riding trail that can be ridden from the Lost Shelter picnic area. Winter activities include snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
