About Malabar Farm State Park

The Malabar Farm in Pleasant Valley is home to Pulitzer Prize-winning artist and writer John Bromfield. Today, visitors can see the houses and farms that still exist from their time, and the outbuildings and pastures still contain chickens, goats and cattle. Maize, wheat, oats and hay strips criss-cross the hills, while picturesque paths adorn the richness of nature.

The gentle landscape and fertile farmland of Malabar create the pleasure of living on a farm, while the wooded mountain peaks support an abundance of natural wonders. The area is known for its picturesque views of the Sierra Nevada, which is interspersed with wildflowers, meadows and a variety of wild animals such as goats, chickens, sheep, goats and horses. Natural features such as MalABar Farm are a natural feature of Pleasant Valley State Park, a state park in the state of California.

Glaciers pushed down the hills of the area, leaving rich soil in the valley, and glaciers pushed up the mountains to leave rich soil in the valley.

The hillsides covered with ferns and moss are decorated with sandstone deposits, and the forest floor is covered with a rich variety of plants and animals, as well as grasses and shrubs. The forest is diverse, with many different tree species and plants such as pine, birch, oak, pineapple, pine, oak, spruce, elm, hazelnut, cedar, juniper and many other species living in the fields, which host a diverse variety of wildflowers and other native species, many of which are native to Malabar.

Pulitzer Prize-winning conservationist Louis Bromfield has set up his Malabar Farm State Park in the rolling countryside of Richland County. Inspired by his love of the countryside, he restored the rich fertility of the farmland and preserved the beauty of the forest. He built a country house with 32 rooms where family, friends and neighbours could enjoy life on the farm.

In his book Pleasant Valley, Bromfield wrote: 'Every inch of the house was hard - it was used since it was built but it was still used while it stood. Maybe one day it will belong to all of us, "Bromfield's prophecy was fulfilled in August 1972, when Ohio State passed the Malabar Farm Act. The state committed itself to preserving the beauty and ecological value of this farm.

Earlier this year, Bromfield's legacy was on the verge of being wiped out for future generations, but not for long, at least not in Ohio.

Malabar Farm, owned by Louis Bromfield and the Malabars Farm Foundation for 14 years, was under threat of foreclosure. When the state of Ohio accepted it as a gift from the people of Ohio, the Noble Foundation - which holds the mortgage - agreed to repay its interest of about $280,000.

From 1972 to 1976, Malabar Farm was jointly operated by Louis Bromfield and his son-in-law John D. Noble Jr. and the Noble Foundation.

In 1976, Malabar Farm became one of the Ohio State parks, dedicated to continuing Bromfield's agricultural philosophy by preserving the natural beauty of its farm and natural resources and providing visitors with a place to explore the farm's life, beauty and nature.

The Pugh Hut is a rented building in Malabar Farm State Park on the west side of the park. It is home to a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing and camping. P Hugh Cottage, which is rented and accommodates a number of motorhomes and visitors, as well as a hostel, is one of two rented buildings in the State Park, right next to the visitor centre.

It offers a ride with 15 seats - in the camp for primitive tents and family campers, as well as a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing and fishing.

The best catch of blue catfish can be caught from the ponds of the farm in Malabar, and a valid fishing license is required in Ohio. A variety of other fishing and camping opportunities are available, such as kayaking, rafting and canoeing.

There are twelve kilometers of hiking trails that can be used by hikers and horseback riders. The paths lead to scenic fields and forests, and there is even a two-mile path to the parking lot of Malabar Farm State Park.

The Malabar Inn in the park is a restored stagecoach house from the 1820s. Today, the Inn is one of the oldest state-owned businesses in Florida and offers a variety of home-cooked meals (click menus).

The inn is also open on weekends from March to April, and group bookings are possible from April to December (more information here).
