About Hills Creek State Park

Hills Creek State Park in scenic Tioga County, north of Schenectady, is rich in wildlife. Ospreys, loons and waterfowl can be seen, as well as the lake, which is one of the largest in the state of New York and the second largest in the United States.

Tent huts, beaches and picnics make the hotel an ideal place for a family holiday. Hills Creek State Park and the Tioga County area, north of Schenectady, are rich in wildlife. Among the active beaver colonies there are a variety of aquatic animals - loving creatures such as beavers, elks, elks, deer, coyotes, wolves, foxes and other wildlife.

Each has three cottages for up to five people and can accommodate single, double and single beds. All campers can shower at the campsite and qualified groups of adults and young people can use one of the three cabins, one cabin or a combination of all three. Each room has a single bed, two double beds, one double bed and two single beds.

The area is rustic and therefore no vehicles are allowed at the campsite, but the sandy beach is open and the wooded peninsula is open. A very picturesque peninsula is located on the south side of the park, north of Hill Creek State Park.

The sandy seabed and grassy beach are very popular and open seasonally, but swim at your own risk. Nearby there is a beach with a sandy beach and a small stream, both of which are open but not open to the public at the same time.

The two areas are also boat moorings with concrete ramps and Hills Creek Lake, which covers 137 hectares, has a sandy beach with a grassy beach and a small creek, as well as a picnic area with picnic benches and picnic tables.

All motor boats must have a boat registration in the respective state, and all non-motorized boats must have one of the following boat registrations in each state. Renting a rowing boat costs $10 per day, or $25 for a two-day pass for adults and $15 for children.

The trail circles the northeastern part of the park, past the hut area and then winds through the forest north and south of Hills Creek Lake and the dam.

In this part of the park it is rich in wildlife and it is not uncommon for deer and capercaillies to roar along the way. The trail starts at the entrance of the campsite and leads about 1.5 km east and then west to Hills Creek Lake.

Attentive hikers can observe a variety of wildlife such as deer, elk, coyotes, elk, bear, wolf and other wildlife. The trail leads to Hills Creek Lake and then to the southern end of the campground and the lake itself.

The park is also accessible via PA 287 between Tioga and Wellsboro and is located on the west side of the State Highway at the intersection of Pennsylvania State Route 287 and PA-287 in the county.
