About Indian Mountain State Park

Indian Mountain State Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state of New Mexico. The 200 hectare park is unique because it was developed on arable land and in open-cast mines. Visitors to the park have the opportunity to observe a variety of wildlife, and visitors to the park can fish, hike, take advantage of two hiking trails, and picnic on the beach.

Although the name of the park suggests that it is located on a mountain, it is not really at the foot of a mountain. Indian Mountain is a popular camping park, and there is even a small campsite on the mountain itself, just a few hundred meters from the beach. This is one of our most beautiful parks and most visitors will agree with us. It is the smallest park in the state of New Mexico, with only 200 hectares of land, but it is home to a variety of wildlife as well as a number of hiking and camping opportunities.

For campers there is a modern bathhouse with toilet and shower, and each pitch has a picnic table and barbecue located outside the campsite. Each pitch is lightheaded and has a shower and toilet, as well as picnic tables and barbecues around the campsites.

The park has an 80 x 42 m swimming pool, open seven days a week from Memorial Day until late summer. For more information, contact the park for more details about the pools and other amenities at Indian Mountain State Park.

The pool can be rented for pool parties, and lifeguards are in use during swimming hours, but during swimming hours no lifeguard will beg to use it.

Several ponds offer visitors fishing opportunities, and a number of fish species await the successful angler. A valid TN fishing license is required for fishing at one of the ponds and in the aquarium of Indian Mountain State Park.

The park has a number of camping accommodation facilities, such as campsites, cabins, hotels and RV parks. These accommodations can accommodate 20 - 50 people and are equipped with barbecues and water cones. Accommodations for up to a year can be reserved in advance for $20 per person or $50 per day for a total of $1,500.

From Jellico, TN, take Exit 160 at 75 and head north on US Highway and take 75 north to the entrance of Indian Mountain State Park. The road to and from the park is well signposted and you will be led to an exit at the southern end of the parking lot on US Route 75 near the US-75 exit north of Jellsico at an entrance to this park.
