About Olmstead Place State Park

Olmstead Place State Park is a 217-acre park that runs along a pioneer farm, and many of the ground-breaking artifacts can be seen in action that are maintained on the farm. The park offers guided tours and school trips, picnic areas and hiking trails intertwine interpretative activities.

The Olmstead family came to Washington in 1875 and there was one of the first farms in the Kittitas Valley in the area. Today there is still a farm where people still work with old-fashioned equipment and most of the outbuildings are standing. After donating the farm to Washington State Park in 1968, they lived there for the next 50 years.

The park has no campsites, but there are 17 unprotected picnic tables and toilets in the park. To reserve a table, please call the park office at 509 - 925 - 1943 or send an email to park office.com for more information.

Located on the west side of the park, south of North Ferguson Rd. Drive two miles and turn left at the T-junction and head north on Main Street to the T-junction. Turn left onto Northerguson Rd, turn right onto T and travel approximately 2 miles on O'Neill Road, then left again onto O'Neill Rd and right onto the road.

Drive approximately one mile to the parking lot and park in the parking lot of O'Neill Road, south of the T-junction, turn left onto Northerguson Rd.
