About Interstate State Park
For outdoor activities you may want to do, Interstate State Park offers a variety of activities. This is the oldest national park in Wisconsin, founded in 1900 and one of the oldest and most popular in the state. The park has had a great year - year-round visitors can experience, with many hikes, bike rides, camping, picnics, fishing, kayaking and more.
Picnic tables and barbecues are available in the park, while open shelters can be reserved for picnic groups and picnic areas for picnics and tents.
One of the best ways to discover what the Interstate has to offer is by hiking the nine-mile trail through the park. Hikers can enjoy scenic views of spectacular landscapes while on the way you can observe rich wildlife such as wildflowers and birds. On the picturesque O'Dalles Lake there is a magnificent beach and beach house, and there are beautiful beaches with beach houses.
A new 2-mile snowshoe trail, starting at the Ice Age Center, leads to areas of the park that are not easily accessible in other seasons. To enrich your visit to this park, visit naturalists for nature programs. Natural summer programs offer a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and camping.
For adults and children starting from kindergarten, the Junior Ranger Wisconsin Explorer program offers the opportunity to learn about nature together. Listen to guided hikes and activities, think about potholes and describe your activities to a group of friends, family members, friends of the park and other visitors.
Children who complete at least half of the activities receive a free iron to a wild spot, and children complete all activities for free, regardless of age.
Visitors have the opportunity to view the exhibits and learn about the frozen history of the country and the gifts of the glacier. The room is illuminated with a variety of exhibits such as the Wisconsin Ice Age and Wisconsin Ice Ages, the Great Lakes and more.
National Park Service and DNR badges are accepted, but no stickers, permits or vehicle construction are required to use the park or its facilities.
Join Friends of Interstate Park and renew your annual membership for $10 per year or $25 for a one-year membership. The proceeds from the sale of membership fees will benefit the park and its friends, a non-profit organization that supports science programs in the parks.
