There is so much to say about this rocking chair. Being true with the great mountain that the brand is named after, the ALPS Mountaineering Rocking Chair is also a great mountaineering rocking chair. Great collapsible/ folding rocking chair that can hold up to 300 pounds while maintaining its weight at 17 pounds. This is extremely portable and lightweight, amidst the fact that it is very sturdy and can hold up so much weight. No pressure points and it has a nice easy, long rocking to it. The exposed metal is powder coated. Hand rests are plastic.
It is not only comfortable to sit in for long periods, but when you get up from it you will find that (hallelujah) your posture is excellent. A very rare thing to happen when sitting, tho. After a few minutes in this chair you can stand or walk for long periods without pain. The only downside for this chair is that the seat is kinda too narrow for the height of the arm rest. Another 5-6 inches wider would have made all the different. Regardless of that, it is still comfortable to sit in. All in all, you can rely on this chair for your relaxation when you camp. No doubts on that.

At the beach, you can sit in the sand and still get back up with ease. It did not sink into the sand much, so there was no slanting left or right. The rocker action is relaxing. It's great for anyone, but especially those of us who are aging or heavier than we used to be. It's a little heavier than other beach chairs, but worth it as it is extremely ergonomic to sit in. It helps corrects your posture too!

It doesn’t just pop-up like a soccer chair. I found flipping it over was easiest for locking the legs in place. All in all, this is a great chair and you should try it!
