The park offers a variety of campsites, picnics, swimming and hiking trails that lead to scenic views of Mount Diablo and the San Joaquin River Valley. The park is located just a few miles north of San Jose, California, on the eastern edge of Bonta Napa Valley State Park. During the day, visitors can take a walk along the rocky creek bed to see the tender ferns and listen to the rippling water in his bed.

On hot summer days, grab a swimsuit and towel and enjoy the park's swimming pool, which is open daily from 9 am to 4 pm from June to October. There is no additional charge for the use of the pools, although a fee of $2.00 per person per day per swim is payable at the entrance to the park.

A large picnic area is located in the day use area and is also available for group events and excursions. The covered area for groups includes picnic tables, picnic chairs, a picnic table, water, snacks, drinks and snacks.

Whether you visit the hinterland for a hike of several hours or just take a walk along the creek bed, do not forget the natural beauty that this park has to offer. There are many hiking trails, picnic areas, waterfalls, creek beds and a variety of other attractions.

Most of the park is rugged and the elevation varies between 2000 feet and 300 feet, but the patterns are visible in the vegetation. The slopes to the south are more overgrown and redwoods grow only in streams and springs, and one can see a reminder of the violent geological past of this area on the slopes, but also along the creek beds and streams. Although the geology of the park is mainly volcanic, the flora is hidden and is located in a variety of habitats, such as the forest north of us.

Dogs must be kept on a leash, only on campsites and picnic areas, and must not be kept unattended at night or in vehicles or tents. Dogs are not allowed on the paths and in the pool areas and are restricted to restricted areas of the park such as creek beds and pools. The park is home to a variety of bird species, reptiles, amphibians, birds of prey and mammals, to name a few, but they are difficult to spot due to the dense vegetation and high altitude of many of them.

Several species of birds are easy to spot, including the six woodpecker species that inhabit the park; the spectacular crow-sized spotted woodpecker is one of them. Owls are rarer, sitting high up in the redwood, but they are abundant throughout the park.

The visitor center is located right at the entrance to the park and is one of the most popular attractions in the area and the only one in California.

Both the visitor centre and the entrance station are open when staff are available, and brochures and hiking maps are also available here.

Next to the park's visitor centre is the Indian Garden, which displays plants that were important to the first people in the area. Many of the same plants are used by the Wappo people today, and garden guides are available in the visitor centre. Indian culture and expanded our understanding of the first man through the use of plants and animals and their use in agriculture.

There are no additional fees for the use of the pools, although there is a $1.50 entrance fee for the public and $2.00 for private use at the entrance to the parks.
