About Favor Dykes State Park
Pellicer Creek winds along the highway on the east coast of Florida, from the Matanzas River to Pellicer's Creek. This tranquil park is known for its pristine condition, with beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean and the Florida Keys.
Pellicer's Creek is also a popular birdwatching spot, where more than a hundred species of birds are seen during the spring and autumn migrations. Song birds, including warblers, swarm into the tidal swamps and streams that feed the stream, as well as the Matanzas River and its tributaries. This peaceful park is also home to many bird species, such as birds of prey, waterfowl, sea turtles and sea lions.
Fishing, picnics and nature walks are popular activities, and Pellicer's Creek is a designated state canoe trail. Visitors can rent canoes in the park or there are fully equipped campsites available for overnight stays.
Faver Dykes State Park has thirty (30) campsites, and each campsite has access to a picnic area, picnic tables, a water fountain and picnic areas. The campsites are located in the southern part of the State Park, south of Faver Park, on the east side of Pellicer's Creek and have a total of 24 campsites, with a maximum of three (3) per hectare.
None of the pitches has a drainage connection and there is no waste disposal site near the campsites, so there are no hot showers or toilets. Natural vegetation buffers are found in most places and some sites are shaded with hammocks and hardwood.
