Spring is a great time of year in the park, and we enjoy the warm weather, fine weather and great weather conditions at Fort Harrison State Park. Park visitors enjoy all of this, including beautiful views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as many other scenic areas.

Ice fishing on the lakes of the park is a great winter activity to break the ice that you have at home in winter, as well as snowmobiling and snowboarding.

The 1700 hectares of the park offer a variety of hiking and jogging trails as well as a wide range of outdoor activities such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing, camping, hiking, cycling, snowmobiling and waterfalls. Landscape and history blend in a unique way and blend into the natural beauty of New York State Park and its surroundings. The park's headquarters are preserved at their original location on the north shore of Lake Erie, south of Fort Harrison.

Spring is a good time to enjoy wildflowers, look out for warblers that fly north during the breeding season, and listen for elusive woodpeckers. Visitors can also visit the Natural History Museum of New York State Park to view exhibits and ask questions from naturalists.
