About Prairie Rose State Park

Prairie Rose State Park is one of the most scenic and beautiful parks in the state of Texas, covering a total of 2.5 million square feet.

Plans for the rise of the prairie began in the 1930s, but construction of the dam began in 1958. The park was inaugurated in 1962 and named after a small village called Village of Prairie Rose, which was once the current site of the park. This 422-acre park is located north of Fort Worth, Texas, south of Interstate 35 and west of Houston.

Camping in Prairie Rose is delightful, whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a family holiday. There are 97 campsites, 61 of which have electricity, and there are large ones with picnic tables, campfires, picnic areas, waterfalls and other amenities. The popular tenants are campers, hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, dog walkers and horse riders.

Half of the campsites are still open, with the "first come, first served" principle, but reservations for some campsites can be made online at the Prairie Rose State Park website or by calling 1-888-762-5555.

Two modern boat ramps provide easy access to the lake, and boat engines of all sizes can be operated at guard speed. The lake is a popular destination for kayaking, canoeing, canoeing,

In the western part, a multi-purpose path runs from the beach area to the west end, which offers excellent fun in winter.
