The Viking Lake campsite is one of the most popular campsites in the Viking Lake State Park in North Dakota. This spacious, shady campsite is located on the lakeside and can be reached by boat from the parking lot at the main entrance to the park.

Half of the campsites are still open for tents on the "first come, first served" principle, and there is a playground close to each campsite. Reservations for each campsite can be made online at the Viking Lake State Park website or by calling 1-888-743-5555.

The park has been expanded to include a lodge and restaurant, and the lake-view property includes new concessions and restaurants. Enjoy the best food and great lake views at Viking Lake State Park Lodge and Restaurant on the north side of Viking Lake.

Boat discounts and a pool are offered and a rental room is available on an annual reservation basis.

A concrete ramp is nearby and berths in the well protected bay are not far away, but rental spaces are available at the Viking Lake State Park Lodge and restaurant on the north side of the park.

A long, shady grassy slope stretches to the edge of the water and forms a beautiful picnic area. Boat engines of all sizes can be used here, provided they work at a trailing speed. The upper street also leads to open picnic areas overlooking the lake, with picnic tables, picnic chairs, picnic tables and picnic benches.

Shelters can be reserved for a fee by the park manager, or you can reserve accommodation for the fee through the park manager.

From the parking lot you have a great view of the beach and also of the Viking Lake State Park and the lake itself.

The Bureiche nature trail and accompanying booklet give a great overview of the nature of Viking Lake State Park and its surroundings. This one hour walk offers visitors an excellent view of all the natural features of the park. In winter, snowmobiles can be used on the designated trails or snowmobiles around the lake.
