About Backbone State Forest
Located at the back of the Backbone State Forest on the east side of Interstate 80, the parking lot is home to a variety of highland hardwood trees and a variety of other plants and animals.
It is also a convenient place to unload horses and snowmobiles as well as snowmobiles and sledges.
In areas that are not accessible by snowmobile, sledges can be unloaded and driven to the rear forest and unloaded in the parking lot.
Backbone State Park is also open for snowmobiling during the winter months from January to March, except for a few days in spring and summer. These areas are open from March to May and again from June to September.
All users should be aware that hunting and riding are legal, as are hiking, cycling and snowmobiling, but not hunting or riding. Backbone State Forest was acquired to protect the lakes and watershed of Backbones State Park. Most of the land that was cultivated at the time of purchase was planted with red and white shrubs and Scottish pine. An extensive system of pathways has been created, while a system of fire protection measures has been developed, with protected plantations of pine, shrubs, grasses and other vegetation.
Although the boundaries between the two areas are clearly marked, everything has been done to clarify them to the best of our ability - to mark them.
