About Logan County State Park
Logan State Fishing Lake is a 25-acre lake surrounded by the Logan Wildlife Area in Logan County, Ohio. The lake usually dries out in hot summers with little rainfall, but is still a popular spot for fishing and boating.
The lake's water level is sufficient to support fishing, and some of the most popular fish species in the lake and wildlife area include catfish, bluethroat, sunfish and windshield wipers. Other species such as bluefish, blue trout, white perch and redfish are also present, but not in large numbers.
The quality is generally good to excellent for the duration of the lake, and the national longitude limit applies to all relevant species when water is available. The high nutrient content that occurs through cyclical refills is accelerated in the summer months by the high water level and high nitrogen and phosphorus levels in the water.
