About Grafton Notch State Park

Grafton Notch State Park is located on Route 26 between Newry and Upton, Maine, and offers hiking, camping and hiking trails, as well as several interesting attractions conveniently located along scenic Route 26. In the Snail Eye Park, visitors will find picnic tables and barbecues, signs explaining the history of the park and autumn itself. The walk through the neighborhood leads to a picnic area with picnic benches, picnic chairs, a fireplace and a picnic table.

The 2,000-mile Appalachian Trail leads to the northern terminus of the trail on Mount Katahdin. Short and long walks lead to a variety of trails, such as the North Fork Trail and the South Fork Trail, as well as a few other trails along the way.

In winter, the main snowmobile trail, 82, crosses the park and is maintained by a local snowmobile club. Facilities include picnic tables and barbecues, as well as a picnic area with a fireplace, picnic table and picnic benches.
