About Craig Lake State Park

Craig Lake is a wilderness area that covers 6,900 acres in Baraga County and offers rugged hiking trails through Michigan. The park includes a variety of wildlife, including a portion of the UP moose herd, and offers scenic views of Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes, as well as the Michigan River.

Cross-country skiing is allowed, but the trails are not groomed, and there are no snowmobile parking spaces or parking spaces for snowmobiles, snowshoeing or snowmobiles. Snowmobiles are allowed to ride on 4 'snow or more on the ground, with a maximum speed of 50 miles per hour on trails and 30 miles on snow - free trails.

Keewaydin Lake is the only outlet boat and the only lake that allows motor boats and artificial bait - only fishing on the lake. The park includes a number of hiking trails, cycle paths, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails, and fishing.

The park offers some of the rougher trails in Michigan, and the 8-mile trail leads to Craig Lake, providing a great opportunity to observe wildlife on the lakeside.

The trail leads through rough terrain, but it is worth it and it leads to a great view of Craig Lake and the lake itself. The park has a 1,000-mile pathway system, the largest of its kind in Michigan. It is part of the US Forest Service's Great Lakes Trail System, which covers more than 1,500 miles in Michigan with a total length of 2,200 miles and a maximum mileage of 3,400 miles.
