About Allegany State Park
This 6,000 hectare region is known for its wooded valleys, unglazed landscapes and autumn foliage.
The large parking system consists of two developed areas: the state parking system and the Allegany County Park System.
These areas offer a variety of hiking trails, nature walks and nature walks, as well as a wide range of activities for children and adults.
The Art of Roscoe ski touring area has some of the best groomed snowmobiling trails in upstate New York, and hikers and cyclists can enjoy a variety of trails and a wide range of other activities.
Snowmobiles are drawn to Allegany State Park because of its long and wide pistes. Other activities include bird watching, horse riding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling, hiking and mountain biking.
There are a number of year-round cottages with the latest amenities in the Red House Quaker area.
Fancher Cottage, located in the historic quaint neighborhood of the park, gets its name from being named one of the 10 most popular campsites in the state of New York. Visitors looking for everything from weekend homes to extended holidays can choose from 424 three-group camps that can be rented. All seven Fanchher's Cottage offer guests a unique camping experience and are located just a short drive from the main park entrance on the east side of Allegany State Park.
The fully disabled cottages can accommodate up to six people and are equipped with a range of amenities, including a fireplace, picnic tables and a picnic area. The cottage also features a barbecue and an outdoor picnic table, as well as access to the outdoor pool and picnic areas of the park.
The Fancher Cottages of Allegany State Park and the Red House Area of Pitt Cottage are located on the Rte. They are classic hunting lodges and offer some of the same amenities as the Fanchher Cottage, but are not handicapped accessible. A prominent feature of Pitt's C Cottage is its burning fireplace, located in Allegansy State Park, at the park entrance on the east side of RT Road.
