About Hug Point State Park
South of Cannon Beach, a small path offers scenic beach views and a short walk to the southern end of Hug Point State Park. Imagine you are driving to that beach in a stagecoach, because that was the only option during the construction of a motorway.
The path is named after him because it encloses the point, and one can walk on the original path carved by the stagecoach on the spot.
Be careful with visitors, it is possible to get stranded at high tide when exploring the place, so beware of flooding and have a plan. Further north, the original stagecoach and its original sign are easily recognizable and you can pay attention to the old railway tracks on the east side of the park and the railway tracks on the west side.
