About Susquehannock State Forest

The trail begins at the southern end of the Susquehannock State Forest, south of New York City, and extends south into Clinton County. The route is mostly leisurely, with some steep climbs on foot, but best marked by rectangular orange bruises. Along the route there are a number of wooded hills, the most important of which is a wooded hill at about 1,500 feet altitude. This leads to a steep ascent up and then a gradual descent back down and is well marked with a rectangular orange bruise.

The road leads to Lyman Run State Park, where parking and sanitary facilities are located. In the summer months, a 43-mile quad-bike course is offered in the Susquehannock State Forest. The trail trail head is located next to the Forestry Commission and the trails lead to a parking lot at Lymen Run State Park, where the parking lots, sanitary facilities and facilities are located at the southern end of the state forest, south of Clinton County.

Mountain biking is allowed on the forest trails, the trail starts at the district office. Horses are allowed to ride in the state forest and on paths near the road where timber is sold, but horses are not allowed on the roads sold through timber, the Forestry Commission said.

In the state forest there are no designated trails for riding, except a trail from the district office to the hiking trail on the east side of the road.
