About Promised Land State Park

Promised Land State Park, one of the largest US states, is located on the eastern edge of the state of New York in New Jersey. It is surrounded by a variety of natural areas, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Two lakes and several small streams contribute to the natural beauty of this park. The forest within the park consists mainly of beech, oak, maple and hemlock, but in between there is still forest.

Early settlers in the area built sawmills to process a large stock of coniferous timber. A religious group, the Shakers, bought a portion of the land in the area, and it was this land that became Promised Land State Park. After the forest had to be cleared, they left it, but there is no evidence of their presence on the lands, which have since become prom-promised land.

The land has been repeatedly cleared and the loss of trees is coming, but the land is still home to a large number of trees, although the land has been cleared repeatedly.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania bought the land in 1902, and the Commonwealth has been working to protect and restore the area. The Promised Land is the fourth Pennsylvania State Park, but the forest and wildlife have returned to their original habitat.

In 1905, President Roosevelt established the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) to alleviate rampant unemployment during the Great Depression. Young men in the C-CC were given food, clothing and small paychecks to build roads, paths and recreational facilities, fight fires and plant trees. The first park was opened to the public in 1905 and the second park, the Promised Land State Park, in 1908.

Camp S-139 was opened in May 1933 and closed in July 1941, and the hard-working young men transformed the Promised Land State Park. For more information on the CCC, please visit the online archive of the Civil Protection Corps.

The northeastern path cuts through the park, crosses Sucker Brook and passes through Promised Land State Park, the first of its kind in the state.

More than 500 people were trapped in the park overnight, but no one was seriously injured and winds are easing, the state Department of Natural Resources said.

Privately owned vacation homes and leased land are scattered throughout Promised Land State Park. Each rustic cottage has a fireplace, electricity and an adjoining private bathroom, and the owner's property rights are respected.

Each campsite is close to swimming, boating, fishing and hiking, and four campsites can be inhabited at any time of day or night for up to three days. Maximum stay is possible at each campsite and campers must leave the park within 48 hours to rebuild it.

Deerfield Campground is hidden behind trees and rocks south of Promised Land Lake and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the park, but Deerfield campsites are open for camping, fishing, swimming, boating, camping and camping in the summer months.

Lower Lake Campground is located on the western edge of Lower Lake and parts of the campsite are open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to camp, fish, boat, swim and create other permitted conditions. The rustic area has toilets with dishwashers, dishwashers and no showers, which are located in the picnic area.

All campsites have toilets with flush and hot showers and the website has electricity - ups, but not all.

Pickerel Point Campground is located in Promised Land State Park, just south of the lake, and hiking tents are located on the lakeside, but access cannot be guaranteed due to severe winter storms. Pickel's Point is open all year round and has access to the campground from the parking lot at the southern end of Lake Michigan.

The Pines Campground is located at the northwest end of the Promised Land and is open all year round. Access to the campsite is via the parking lot on the south side of the lake. The rustic area has vaulted windows and at both ends of the peninsula there is an unguarded bathing area. Pay showers are in the picnic area, but no pay showers in Pickel's Point.

There is a path from the picnic area to the main beach, and the toilets have flush toilets, but no paid showers are located in the Pickel's Point area.

The main beach is near the picnic area, and there is a path to the beach from the Pickel's Point area and a short walk from there to a beach access point.

Pickerel Point Beach is located at the end of Pickel's Point and swims at your own risk as there are many sharks and other marine life in the area.

They must be accompanied by a child under ten years of age and swim at their own risk, and all groups on the beach must be supervised by adults and children.

The Promised Land State Park has five boat moorings, each of which offers a total of 240 seasonal berths.

Boat rentals are located at Promised Land Lake and Main Beach, and all motor boats must have a state registration. Non-motorized boats must have one of the following boat registrations from each state: Florida, California, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Virginia and Washington State.

The picnic area is located on Lake Promised Land and has many picnic tables in a picturesque forest landscape. It has a picnic table, picnic chairs and picnic benches, as well as a few other picnic utensils. Just a short walk away is Main Beach, a small beach with beach volleyball court, volleyball courts, tennis courts and other amenities.

Two picnic pavilions can be reserved for $11 a month, plus an advance booking fee, and one reserves, reserves, who comes first, who comes first, who serves the third, for free.

The designated recreational trails in the area are marked with vertical blue signs, and international symbols indicate the permitted use of the trails. Signs at intersections indicate permitted devices, but other markings are not relevant to this system.

The small waterfall on the Little Falls Trail can be seen from the parking lot of the park office at (888) 762-5555. The Promised Land State Park and surrounding state offer about 50 km of hiking trails that provide access to many scenic spots.

This is especially true in mid-June, but also from mid-October, when the autumn leaves are high. This trail leads to an area rich in historical and scenic attractions and one of the most beautiful in the state.

Motorised vehicles are prohibited on this route, but not in winter, as snowmobiles are allowed on designated snowmobile paths.

Wear proper clothing and shoes when hiking, orange clothing during hunting season and observe hunting seasons and hunting areas in the park. Take a map and plan where you are going when you return, stay on the way, plan to return before dark and return after dark. During the hike, you should let someone know where to go, what to watch for and when to hike, and inform them.

Horse riding: The Promised Land State Park offers select horse riding trails and a variety of other activities. Riders can join other riders from across the state in sharing the excitement of riding on the Promises Land Horseback Trail.

Cycling: Bikes are allowed on all designated trails in Promises Land State Park and adjacent forest areas throughout the state of Delaware. The trails were used by adjacent forests and areas of the states of Maryland and Delaware, as well as by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources.

All are invited to the traditional summer weekend campfire program, and after that school programs are offered for children 5 years and older.

The park has a small museum that displays the natural monuments found in the area as well as a number of other exhibits. Self-guided nature trails are located on Conservation Island in Promised Land Lake and allow you to explore the island's various habitats.

Promised Land State Park is located in the northern part of New Hampshire, north of Boston. The park is easily accessible from the 80 and 84 motorways and is also close to several other national parks and other tourist attractions.
