Myrtle Beach State Park is located in the heart of Grand Strand and is one of the oldest and most popular parks in South Carolina. This traditional national park was founded in 1930 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and has a reputation as the only public oceanfront park on the North Carolina coast. The 312 hectare oceanfront park plays an important role in preserving the natural beauty and scenic beauty of Myrtle Beach and its surroundings and has a reputation as a popular destination for outdoor recreation as well as a great place for picnics, hiking, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. It includes a variety of natural facilities such as sand dunes, beaches, streams, waterfalls, a beach volleyball court, an amphitheater, picnic areas and a picnic area.

In addition, nature trails offer the opportunity to see the remaining residents of the ancient city of Myrtle Beach and its historic buildings. This distinction has led to the park being declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Convention on the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (UNCLN).
