About Pickwick Landing State Park

Pickwick Landing has been a stopover for riverboats since the 1840s, but the place was chosen in the 1930s during the Depression because of its proximity to the Ohio River and its natural beauty.

TVA transferred the property to the Tennessee State Park System in the early 1970s. What makes the park today was once the Pickwick Landing Power Plant, a major Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) power plant.

Back then, inns, cabins, a marina and a picnic hut were built, and today Pickwick Landing is one of the most visited parks in the system.

Each room is equipped with a data port for your computer needs, and meeting rooms can be tailored to a variety of functions. Catering and events can also be tailored to your needs by adding a full-service restaurant, bar and hair salon, as well as a catering kitchen.

Located on the Mississippi-Alabama border near Pickwick Dam, it is one of the most popular golf courses in the state of Mississippi. The course opened in May 1973 and is popular with local golfers, and Golf Digest awarded the course three stars in its "Courses to Play" category. There is a jump that protects the entire right side of each fairway, as well as an 18-hole par 3 course with a total of 18 holes.

In total, there are twenty bunkers on the course, and the tee times are 7 days a week. Every year, Pickwick Landing Golf Course hosts the St. Jude Charity Golf Tournament and a variety of other events, including the Mississippi State Fair and the Alabama State Golf Championships. In addition, the St. Jude's Charity Golf Tournament is held every year on the first Sunday of the month at the end of May.

We have expertise and experience in adapting these events and we have a staff that will take care of all your golf needs. Tournament excursion packages are called "Tournament Excursions" and include accommodation and meals when available.

There are two free boat ramps in the park and all types of boat trips are allowed at Pickwick Landing. In summer, boaters can start up to 60 feet long from one of the two ramps and from the parking lot on the west side of Pickwick Landing Park.

There is a fee for temporary or overnight docking and there is no fee for temporary docking.

There is currently no service dock on the west side of Pickwick Landing Park, but service docks are available in the car park at the northern end of the park near the beach entrance.

Fuel is available in the parking lot at the northern end of the park near the beach entrance, and you can rent a diesel or diesel electric boat with a tank of up to 1,000 gallons.

Laundromat and showers are located in the Marina Office Building, and tours of the park are not possible. Please ask the parking office and you will receive a list of qualified guides in your area.

Guests of the holiday homes enjoy all guest house privileges, including the use of tennis courts and swimming pool. Each cottage has its own bathroom, kitchen, dining room and laundry room and is equipped with a fully equipped kitchen and a private bathroom with shower and dryer.

The cabins can be booked in advance for the year, and each campsite has a total of 48 pitches.

Thirteen locations have 20, 30 or 50 amps, 31 locations have only 20 amps, four sites have 20 - 30 amps and four locations have Each campsite has picnic tables and barbecues and is available from 10 am to 5 pm on the basis of the first - come, first served.

The Inn & Conference Center, which opened on July 1, 2001, is located directly on Pickwick Lake. The 119 rooms offer picturesque views of the lake and host a variety of events such as weddings, business meetings and conferences.

The inn also has a full service bar, restaurant, bar and hair salon, a fitness center and a wellness center. The hotel is popular year-round and groups can be booked at the Inn & Conference Center and Pickwick Lake State Park.

All guest rooms and conference rooms are ADA compliant, and Pickwick Landing had three public beaches. Sandy Beach is located in the day and use zone of the park and the third beach is located on the lake near the Bruton Branch Primative Area.

Overall, the total amount allowed to swim on the beach was not monitored, but swimming on both beaches is not monitored by the State Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection (DNR).

No boat trips are allowed at Pickwick Landing, but there are two free boat ramps in the park. In summer, boats up to 60 feet in length (approx. 30 meters) and in spring and summer, two boats with a maximum length of 30 feet (approx. 30 meters) can start from one of the two ramps.

There is no charge for temporary docking, but for temporary or night docking. There is currently no service dock at Pickwick Landing in the park for overnight stays or temporary mooring.

However, the service docks are available during the day and evening hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.

Fuel is available at Pickwick Landing from 7am to 5pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 5pm on weekends and holidays, 9am to 5pm, 9am to 10am, 7am to 10am and 7am to 11am. Here you can rent a boat with a maximum capacity of 10,000 gallons of gasoline or diesel and refuel during the day and evening hours.

The TN River is considered one of the most beautiful rivers in the Tennessee River Basin and the largest river in Tennessee and is an important source of drinking water for many of the largest cities in the country.

Imagine more than 100 species scattered in a vast freshwater area with hundreds of secluded bays in a remote bay. From experienced anglers to anglers with fancy equipment, there is something for everyone. A valid TN fishing licence is required and there are two jetties available, one in the river and one on the shore. It hosts major tournaments such as the Tennessee River Classic and the TN River State Fishing Tournament.

Two refuges on the lake were built by the CCC in the late 1930s, two of which offer lake views, while the third is next to the park's playground. There are five shelters in the park, one on each side of the river and one on the banks of Pickwick Lake.

Accommodation No. 2 is equipped with running water and can accommodate up to 150 people in the gazebo, and both accommodations have barbecues. These two accommodations can be reserved for a year in advance for a small fee, and each has a barbecue.

There are over 100 tables in the park, and none of them are running water, but all picnic tables have barbecues. Most offer picnics near the lake, while others are close to the playgrounds. Some of the picnic areas are wheelchair accessible, others have barbecue tables and some do not.

The park is led from State Route 57 from the north end of Pickwick Lake to the east side of the lake and from there to a parking lot on the west side.
