One of the most popular parks in the Southeast, the bubbling creek of Fall Creek Falls State Park and spectacular waterfalls make it one of my favorite places for hiking, camping and picnicking.

The waterfalls themselves are smaller but equally impressive, and only a short walk from the main entrance to the park's main parking lot. Fall Creek Falls are the largest of their kind in North America and plunge more than 200 meters deep into a shady pool at the foot of a canyon.

The oak and hickory forests that cover most of the park give way to tulip and hemlock forests along the gorge.

Mountain goreberry and rhododendron are abundant throughout the park, as are other plants and animals. Plants and animals in this wet, protected gorge are not unlike the species in southern Canada. The park is located on the east side of Fall Creek Falls State Park and can be reached via Highway 111 or Highway 30.

The park has 20 double rooms, which can accommodate eight to ten triple cabins, and a conference centre with 20 twin rooms, which can accommodate eight, ten or three bedrooms.

The conference package is an all-inclusive room plan that the conference specialist can tailor to your specific objectives. This plan can be used in any of the six inns and conference centers and takes the guesswork out of planning and budgeting, as it is a unique - or a - friendly experience for the whole family, not just guests.

Each cabin is fully equipped for home use and has central heating and air conditioning, and all cabins are fully furnished and have a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, laundry, dining room, kitchen and living room.

There are 10 fishing huts, each two-story, located directly on Fall Creek Lake. Guests staying in the fishing huts can enjoy their own private veranda overlooking the lake and have the opportunity to cook outdoors and eat al fresco. There is also an outdoor dining room overlooking the hill with lake views, as well as a private outdoor pool and picnic area.

The cottages are adapted for disabled guests and pets are allowed, but the cottages are not available to guests with pets.

With 228 campsites, Fall Creek has behaved well, with only one vandalism incident in the last three years at three campsites.

The duration of the stay is two weeks and campers must register at the campsite at check-in, but selected locations can be reserved. All pitches have tables, barbecues, water and electricity connections; no central bathhouse or shower is used during the camp. There are no landfills planned for independent campsites, so landfills are not planned.

Fall Creek acts like a rustic bunker, grouped around a campfire, a fireplace, picnic tables and a picnic table. The campsite offers a variety of activities, such as hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking and camping.

There are three backcountry campsites and pack animals are allowed in the park, but permission is required for use.

Group Lodge 3, the largest of the three cabins in the group, is also fully equipped - with a stove, oven, hob and refrigerator.

A fold-out table and chairs are provided, as well as access to the outdoor pool, picnic tables and a picnic table with chairs.

For pool users, there is a modern bathhouse and snack bar, and in the park there is a paddling pool with pool house, picnic tables and a picnic table with chairs.

Lifeguards are in use during bathing hours, and privately owned boats are allowed on the lake, or can be rented at the park office.

The Naure Center programming team organizes pontoon rides in Fall Creek State Park every Saturday and Sunday from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fall Creek offers a wide range of activities for children and adults, from kayaking, canoeing, hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking and canoeing.

Barbecues are held on Saturday and Sunday from 9.30 to 16: 00 in the car park of the Naure-Center, water cones are nearby. In the case of Creek State Park there is a picnic area for up to 75 people. Reservations can be made two years in advance for $5 per person or $10 per day.

The Fall Creek Falls Overlook Trail is accessible to people with disabilities, and there is also a trail.

This path can be connected to the Falls State Park Trail and Natural Center Trail, as well as other trails in the park. Fall Creek Falls SP offers year-round activities for the whole family, so no matter where you're interested, we've got something for you.

Turn right at Exit 288 onto 111 South and turn right at the intersection of Fall Creek Road Exit and Exit 288 onto the freeway into State Park.

Take I-40 West from Knoxville / Crossville to Peavine Road and turn left onto the exit for Highway 101 South. The entrance to the park is at the intersection of Fall Creek Road Exit and Exit 288 on the freeway into State Park.

Continue south on Highway 127 until you reach the junction of Fall Creek Road and Exit 288 to the exit for Highway 101 South. Turn left onto the motorway until you pass the first traffic light on the 127 motorway.

Turn left onto Highway 101 South and travel approximately one mile to the Highway 100 South exit. Turn left on Highway 101 South for approximately two miles and turn right on Fall Creek Road to Exit 288 to Exit 287.

Take I-75 from Atlanta North to Chattanooga and turn right onto Highway 30 West and follow Highway 111 to Atlanta North and the park entrance on the right.
