About Battle Ground State Park

Battle Ground Lake State Park is considered a smaller version of Crater Lake in Oregon, but is of volcanic origin. The lake itself is of volcanic origin and is considered the largest lake in the USA with an average depth of about 2,000 feet.

The lake is said to be a miniature version of the crater lake in Oregon and is a popular fishing spot as it is fed by trout. The park is open all year round - up to camping with day tents and offers a variety of activities such as hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, camping, fishing and horseback riding.

Battle Ground State Park is one of Oregon's most popular hiking and camping areas and a popular destination for hikers and kayakers.

The park is largely surrounded by evergreen forest, hiking trails and lakes, and the average rainfall is 35 inches, according to the National Park Service.

The lake has volcanic origin and is believed to be within the Maar volcano, and is believed to be of volcanic origin. This type of volcano is the result of hot lava or magma moving near the surface of the Earth and then coming into contact with underground water. It is believed that this led to a large steam explosion, which left a crater that later formed the lake.

The area is named after the battle that the settlers of Fort Vancouver fought in 1855 between US Army soldiers and the Klickitat Indians. He allowed the Indians to leave the fort for a few days before returning to bury the chief they had accidentally killed. Most of the fort's inhabitants believed there would be a struggle to get them to return, and christened the place the Strong Battlefield. The name prevailed and the Indians returned peacefully and faithfully to their word.

Later it was simply called a battlefield, and the parking lot is a private concession. It offers a variety of hiking, biking, camping, fishing, canoeing, horse riding and hiking trails, as well as a picnic area.

Four cottages are available all year round, and each room sleeps four and is equipped for four people.

The store is open and offers horse shoes for rent as well as a variety of other items for sale, such as camping gear, camping supplies, food, water, clothing and other supplies.

The park has 15 primitive pitches that campers must reach on foot, and the maximum length of each pitch is 35 feet, possibly due to limited availability. There is no domestic water outside the park, but the park has a water supply at the entrance to the campsite and in the parking lot.

The camp has a covered cooking and meeting area, and campers are allowed to camp up to four days a week, with a maximum of three days per camp. The group camp has four adrenaline sack and three outbuildings for eight people each, a total of six campsites with an average of eight beds per night.

There are 70 unprotected picnic tables and a minimum group size of 25 people per camp bed, with a maximum of three per group per day, for a total of six campsites with an average of eight beds per night.

Interpreter programs are offered throughout the day - toilets are ADA compliant - at the Battle Ground State Park Visitor Center and at the War Memorial. Evening programs include a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, camping, fishing, climbing, hiking and more.

Sports grounds provide space for football and goal poles, there are movable poles for badminton and volleyball, and groups provide nets for balls and minton. The park offers self-guided nature trails, hiking and cycling trails and a variety of other outdoor activities.

Mountain bikers are allowed to use the paths as long as they provide at least two kilometers of asphalt bike paths and a cycle path. The park does not have a designated cycle path, but is accessible by bike from the parking lot at the park entrance.
