About Colville National Forest
This 1.1 million-acre forest is located in Northeast Washington, near the border with Canada. Driving through Colville National Forest, one of the largest national forests in the United States, you feel calm and solitude. You feel as if you are walking in the middle of the forest, a place of peace, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.
Special attractions include hiking, camping, mountain wildlife viewing and hiking trails, as well as the Columbia River Trail. The Colville National Forest, one of the largest national forests in the United States, was founded 10,000 years ago by glaciers that cut through the mountains of Washington State, which is flat to the east of the Cascade Mountains, to the Pend Oreille River, which flows north into Canada and flows into the Columbia River. The Columbia is named after its namesake, the largest river in the Pacific Northwest. Native Americans were initially attracted by the large salmon runs in this forest, but later miners, fur trappers, and homeowners set about tapping into the area's rich resources.
Northeast Washington is a paradise for tents and excursions, and you can choose from a variety of camping options, including highland firs, cottages, cabins, campgrounds, hiking trails, or even a campground in the woods.
Those who prefer a less rustic approach should head to Colville National Forest, one of the largest national parks in the USA. You can pitch your tent in scattered places in the park, such as campgrounds, huts, huts or even on a campground along the paths.
Bring your own water to any campsite where there is water and where it is available. Most of the free campsites do not have a garbage service, so please pack with you. Wherever you are, remember that you are responsible for the care of your country and its institutions.
Season tickets are sold by concessionaires and are good for any concessionary operating in the area.
Other campsites are operated on the "first come, first served" principle with a limited number of season tickets. Reservations can be made by phone at 1-877-444-6777 or by e-mail at www.reserveusa.com. Sullivan Lake East - West Group is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm from July 1 to October 31, 2017 for reservations.
The Swan Lake Cycling Festival is now in its tenth round, while the Sullivsee East-West Cycling Festival is in its eighth. It is the second year of the annual RadFest in Sullivan Lakes National Forest and is a partnership between the National Park Service (NPS) and the Colville National Forest.
Over 69 people took part in the two days of action, and 10 staff and volunteers were involved in teaching and supervising the event, as well as a number of volunteers from the local community.
The number of participants was lower than in previous years, but donations were generous and prizes were donated. The winner was the winner of the Colville National Forest National Park Conservation Award 2015, which is worth £5,000.
The Curlew JCCC Forestry Crew had cleared the track before the event and provided firewood for the camp. To get to the western half of the forest, you have to drive west from Colville on US Highway 395 and reach the eastern half in the woods.
