Maryhill State Park is one of the state's most popular hiking and camping destinations, with over 2,000 acres of trails and more than 1,500 miles of trails and a variety of views.

A scale model of Stonehenge stands in the park, and the area is surrounded by natural wonders. The park is open all year round - for tent and day - and camping is available for $5 per person or $10 for a two-person campsite.

Maryhill State Park was leased by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1972 and purchased for free by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) and the US Geological Survey (USGS).

In the years after World War II, the Quaker community tried to return to its roots. Sam Hill, who was considered a local eccentric, built a castle for his daughter Mary, which he called the Castle of Maryhill.

A few miles from State Park, Mr. Hill built his family's house, a beautiful building originally designed as a family home. Since its completion, it has been called an art museum and is one of the oldest buildings in the State Park.

Stonehenge and Maryhill Museum of Art are open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission for all visitors and from 1 p.m. to 4: 30 p.m. every day at the same time.

The park has 20 camping pitches and 50 outbuildings, and the maximum length of a pitch is 60 feet, possibly due to limited availability. Most services are available within 10 miles of the park, but not all are open to the public at all times.

There are no mobile homes or landfills, but there is a mobile home landfill on the east side of the park, near the intersection of Interstate 95 and Route 1. Group campsites can be reserved online or by telephone at 1 - 888 - 542 - 4357 or by calling the toll-free National Park hotline. There is no parking space on the campsite, only a small parking lot with a garage and picnic area.

Check-in is 14: 30, check-out is 13: 00, and quiet times are 22 - 00 and 06 - 30. The length of stay is extended by the number of days you spend at one of the campsites in the park, or a combination of both. Motor-powered electric generators can be operated up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a maximum output of 2,000 watts.

The park has a 216 foot jetty that can only be used for boats, and two picnic shelters with two tables are available and serve as the first to come and to come. Annual tickets can be purchased at the parking office (staff is available) or for $5 per person.

Stonehenge and the Maryhill Museum of Art in the Park, built by Sam Hill, are open to the public, as is the museum itself, and are open to the public.

Located on the west side of the park, at the intersection of US Highway 1 and US Highway 12. Travel 12 miles south on US Highway, go one mile north and then one mile west on US Highway 2.
