About Lausmann State Park
Vincent Lausmann's family donated 126 hectares of rugged landscape to the State of Oregon in his memory. At the foot of the park is a plaque to Mr. LaUSmann, where a path leads visitors through steep walls of firs, alders and maples that mark the Columbia River Gorge area. The park is located near Mitchell Point, where one of Portland's most popular tourist attractions is located, Mitchell's Point State Park. The views from the canyon along the way are spectacular and quake spectacular, as are the views of Mt. Hood, the Cascade Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
