About Bridle Trails State Park

This wooded park is located on the northeast edge of Greater Seattle and is known for its scenic views of Puget Sound, horse riding and hiking trails. The park, sometimes referred to as "the wilderness in the city," has been a popular destination for Seattle residents for decades.

The park is open year-round for daily use and is known for its scenic views of Puget Sound, horse riding and hiking trails. The forest is teeming with Douglas fir, firs and western hemlock, mixed with a variety of other tree species such as elm, birch, pine and oak. It is a remnant of the vegetation that once covered Pugets Sound with vegetation, and it is one of Seattle's most popular hiking and horse riding destinations.

The park has been in state ownership since the 1880s and was a popular horseback riding spot until the 1930s. A system of paths has been developed by riders and municipalities and out of concern for the protection of the country, citizens have submitted a petition to the state parliament to make the paths a national park.

The petition was accepted and today local groups, especially those with equestrian interests, are working hard to maintain and improve the facilities. The two largest horse shows in the park are the C-show and the horse show and the annual horse race.

The picnic area serves as the first stop for the annual horse and horse race. The park has a number of picnic areas with picnic tables, picnic chairs and a picnic table.

Horse riding and horse shows are two of the most common activities in the park, but joggers are asked to report if they pass horses along the way. Horses on paths are not allowed to walk on the path unless the horse has right of way, and joggers must ask permission to pass it.

It is located on the west side of the 405 Freeway, south of I-405 and takes Exit 17 on I-405 to the south end of Bridge Trail State Park.

At the end of the ramp, turn right and head south on 116th Avenue and continue to the west side of Bridge Trail State Park at the south end. At the end of the two ramps, turn right to the left and turn south and then right again to go south on the bridge path.

At the end of the exit, cross the highway, turn right and take 116th Ave. At the first opening in the trees, turn left at the entrance to the park, turn left at a traffic light, then right again and through the opening of a tree on your left.
