About Alta Lake State Park

Alta Lake State Park is a 181-acre camping park where pine forest meets desert, where pine forests meet desert. Lake AlTA is bordered to the east and west by the Alta River, the San Juan River and the Colorado River.

The mountainous terrain around Alta Lake has been formed by glaciation, and the local rocks are mostly flammable. The park offers good trout fishing in the summer months, but Lake Chelan with its many activities is 30 minutes away.

The park has a maximum length of 38 feet, but due to limited availability, the maximum lengths are embedded at each location at 38 feet.

Sailboarding is also popular with park visitors, and there are possibilities for use, but you have to come first, not the park.

Horse riding is allowed in the park, and there is water skiing, which can be dangerous on the smaller lakes. There is an 18 hole golf course located in the Alta Lake area and the Columbia River is only 4 miles away, but no horse riding.

The hotel is located on Alta Lake Road, just south of the car wash, about two miles from the park entrance. Travel two miles west on Pateros Highway, turn left on AlTA Lake Road and continue to the park for two miles.
