Hawks Nest State Park is located in the heart of white water rafting country and covers 276 hectares lined by gorges. The park has long been known for its panoramic views and offers a modern lodge with 31 rooms, providing overnight guests with comfort.

The New River forms the peaceful Hawks Nest Lake behind the lodge and suites are available at no extra cost. The lake is formed by narrow canyons with rushing water and the lake provides a perfect backdrop for white water rafting, kayaking and other activities. Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of New York or a romantic getaway in the heart of the country, Hawks Nest State Park is the perfect year-round hideaway.

The lodge's conference and banquet rooms offer a wide variety of activities, from hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and mountain biking to hiking and camping.

The 9-hole Executive Course offers a variety of golf courses with a wide range of options for golfers of all skill levels. The course is perfect for beginners and experienced golfers and offers great games for newcomers and those looking for variety.

The golf course opens daily at 8 am and is located 8 km west of the lodge. Cars and clubs can be rented in the pro shop. In the lodge visitors have access to an exciting cable car, which serves as a recreational facility on the lake. Hawk's Nest State Park Lodge with its large meeting room is ideal for business meetings and group meetings.

Next to the hotel there is a picnic area and many private outdoor balconies offer views of the gorge and lake, while other guests staying at the property during the season are overlooked.

The dining room offers regional home cooking in a relaxed atmosphere and offers a magnificent view of the gorge. A tennis court and playground are also nearby, as well as an outdoor pool and a picnic area for the children.

The park offers four hiking trails of varying difficulty, which allow a view of nature at its best.

The nature park offers programs for flora and fauna, and special programs can be arranged for groups. The park, as well as other state parks in West Virginia and other states, will host a number of special events.

Three gift shops are located in Hawks Nest State Park: The Lodge Gift Shop is open all year round, and the Lower Park Gift Shop is located one mile west of Route 60 and is open from May to October. The park's main attractions include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Trail, Blue Ridge Parkway, Big Ridge Trail and other hiking trails in the area.

The third souvenir shop is located at the marina along the river, where the nature centers are located. Among other things, you will find a variety of educational gifts that are related to nature.

The gift shop offers a wide selection of souvenirs as well as a wide selection of food and drinks.

High above the gorge and with a main view is the park's historical museum, a rustic log cabin built in the early 1930s by the Civil Conservation Corps, which houses Indian pioneering artifacts.

The Nature Centre offers a wide range of educational activities such as hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, camping and much more. The accommodation areas in this park are completed with a variety of cabins, tents, picnic areas, hiking trails and a picnic area.

Labor Day is marked with trams and 15 passenger ships show up at the Hawks Nest dam. Head to the New River Gorge Bridge to have a view of the bridge that towers 876 feet above the river.
