About Bluestone State Park
Bluestone State Park is set in heavily wooded grounds and offers a variety of water activities to guests and residents of southern West Virginia. Bluestone is one of the most popular water parks in the United States, and an added bonus is that there are a large number of natural waterfalls and water sports in the park.
The Bluestone area is home to several historic recreational facilities, including Grandview Park in Beckley, home to the West Virginia Historical Society and the Blueestone State Park Museum.
Sandstone Falls are particularly noteworthy north of Hinton, and just 10 km south is the largest waterfall in West Virginia and the second largest in the United States. North of the park is Beech Mountain State Park, which houses a number of historic sites, including the Blueestone Museum.
The Bluestone National Wild and Scenic River flows into Bluestones Lake within the boundaries of the park, and its tributary, the Blueestone River, borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and West Virginia State Park, offering numerous hunting and fishing opportunities.
The cabins are open all year round and have modern furnishings, wooden panelled walls, forced air conditioning and air conditioning. Cots and cots are available at no extra cost and can be reserved in advance to avoid a handling fee. Guests can choose from a variety of cabin options, such as a single, two, three or four-person cabin.
On the eastern shore of Bluestone Lake there is also a campsite with picnic area, picnic tables and picnic benches, which is only accessible by boat. The campsite is located in the flood retention basin of Bluestones Lake and is open late depending on the water level. Outdoor enthusiasts visiting Bluestone are aware of the extensive recreational opportunities in the State Park, including hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and kayaking.
The swimming pool and paddling pool are open from one weekend to the next, and cottage guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year, including hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing and swimming.
Boats and canoes can be rented at the marina, and the lake offers a variety of water sports such as kayaking, fishing, rafting, boating, swimming and fishing. Located on the eastern edge of Bluestone State Park, just north of the city of Bluffton, the park offers a range of water activities and a range of outdoor activities for adults and children. The lake is offered in two types: striped perch, a small shallow lake and a large, wide, deep lake.
The Nature Park offers special weekly programs and animations during the summer months with a variety of activities for adults and children. These include hiking, cycling, walking, picnicking and even a Viennese roast.
Bluestone State Park is located in the southeast of the state and is accessible from several highways. Take the Athens Road exit (Exit 14) and drive the 15 miles to the park or take the I-95 exit, Exit 16 or the Interstate 95 exit. Travel one mile south on Interstate 94 to Bluestone Road and turn left onto the US Highway 1 exit and then right into the parking lot.
