About Hawk Springs State Park
Hawk Springs Reservoir is home to a variety of wild fish, including wallise, mouthfish and catfish, but fishermen have long known that fishing at Hawk Springs Springs is best. The herons themselves include the heron, a common bird in the national park, as well as many other birds of prey.
Ice fishing in the park is also good in winter, and in winter - fishing is as good in both parks as in winter - only in summer.
Boats, moorings and parking are available in the park's parking lot and on the beach at the entrance to the State Park and in a nearby parking garage.
The Hawk Springs recreation area is located on the east side of State Park, south of Lake Okeechobee. Questions about game and fish can be directed to the local foresters at (904) 762-5555 or (888) 542-8477.
