About Monte Sano State Park
Monte Sano State Park, one of the most beautiful and scenic mountain parks in the United States, is in excellent health.
The mountain has been attracting visitors since 1887, when the city of Viduta was founded on the slopes of Monte Sano, the highest peak in the Sierra Nevada. Since its opening on 1 June 1887, it has been home to the Hotel MonteSano, which closed at the beginning of the 20th century due to economic decline. During the development of the CCC in the 1930s, 11 stone huts were added, some of which were destroyed by fire in 1947 and are still in use today. The reconstruction of Monte SanO Lodge was completed in February 2004, the construction of a new lodge in May 2005.
The park also offers 20 miles of hiking trails so you can return to the forest to enjoy the tranquility of the mountain and at the same time enjoy the tranquility of a mountain. An 8 km long mountain bike trail was built and maintained by local cyclists and is still in operation today. These features include a 1,000-foot long, 5-kilometer wide and 2,500-meter high hiking trail.
