About Millers Pond State Park

Miller's Pond is a picturesque, tranquil lake with a jetty and beach, and numerous rocky outcrops rise out of the pond to create fishing platforms. An easy, flat path surrounds the lake, although it is a bit rocky in places, so you should wear shoes when hiking.

Millers Pond was acquired by the State Park and Forest Commission from the heirs of Thomas Macdonough Russell. In the following years the state acquired further land and in 1972 completed the acquisition of the entire area around the pond. At that time, the park consisted of about 1,000 hectares of land, mostly on the west side of the Millerweiser.

Millers Pond is unique in that its main spring comes from a large spring that creates a body of clean water ideal for small perch and trout. The original pond dam was built in 1704, but Thomas Miller built an upper dam in 1804 to create a larger, more accessible body of water for his family and friends.

Turn left onto Millbrook Road and at the intersection of Mill Brook Road south of the creek turn left onto the road and then right onto the pond.

Keep left on Foothills Road and at the intersection of Mill Brook Road south of the creek turn left on Millbrook Road. There is a parking lot on the right.
