About Sleeping Giant State Park

There is a two-mile-long mountain that resembles a tall man resting on his back in the sleeping giant state park. The 1.5 km loop leads to a 1,000 foot high mountain peak, from which one has a view of the city of San Francisco, the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean.

Take Exit 61 at Wilbur Cross Parkway, turn right at the traffic light onto Route 10N, go one mile, then join Route 40 and stay until the end. The entrance to the park is on the left, across from Quinnipiac University, and then turn left onto Route 20N. Right at the traffic lights for Route10N and continue one mile to a parking lot near the entrance to State Park.

The entrance to the park is on the left, across from Quinnipiac University, and then left on Route 20N. Heading north on Whitney Avenue, turn right on MT and drive one mile to the end of the parking lot.

From Route 84 in Cheshire, take Route 70 to Route 70. 10 South, turn left at the traffic light onto MT and drive 5 miles.
