The area, now called Quaddick State Park, was once Thompson's urban farm, where the old villagers spent their years peacefully. There was a fishing area for the Nipmuck Indians, and the area we now call Quadick State Park was once Thompson Urban Farm, an area where older villagers spent their year - for a long time, tranquil.

In 1866, the city of Thompson granted permission to build a dam at what was then King's Pond, which led to higher water levels in what was then King's Pond, to create the Quaddick Reservoir.

Although Quaddick was originally developed as a forest and recreation area, it was declared a state park in 1974. The reservoir was extensively used for recreation and was an important source of water for the city of Thompson and the state.
