About Wyantenock State Forest
Wyantock State Forest is one of the best kept secrets in Britain and the least visited state forest in England. The forest covers a large area that includes the towns of Warren in Kent and Cornwall, but many of these forests have little or no public access.
It is a rugged and remote forest that has improved the quality of life in Litchfield County by providing access to a wide range of wildlife and a variety of natural resources such as wildflowers, birds, butterflies and wildlife.
When the first land was acquired in 1925, it was considered part of the Mohawk State Forest, but when the lands were added, Wyantenock took its own name and is now considered a state forest.
