Florida has welcomed pioneers of all kinds throughout its history, but Cyrus Reed Teed is probably the most famous of the followers who brought Estero to the established tee.

The colony, known as the Koreshan Unit, believed that the entire universe existed in a giant hollow sphere. After Ted's death in 1908, the colony began to fall into disrepair, and the last four members handed over the land to the state in 1961. Today, visitors can fish in the lake where the once visionary Ted conducted experiments to prove the existence of a horizon that bends upward from Lee County beach. Boat ramps and canoe rental are also available in the park, as well as a boat ramp and a canoe parking lot.

For an overnight stay in the park, there is a fully equipped campsite, and campers can enjoy a campfire program on Friday evenings from January to March. Visitors can visit the settlement with a guide and the ranger in the tourist guide village, as well as the campsite and picnic area.

Located off US 41 near Corkscrew Road, the Estero River is located on the east side of the park, south of Lake Okeechobee. In winter, manatees are found in the water, as well as a variety of birds, reptiles, amphibians, birds of prey and mammals.

Koreshan is ideal for birds as it is home to over 100 bird species and there is a large variety of birds of prey as well as a large number of reptiles and amphibians. There are several bird sanctuaries along the Estero River, such as the Great Swamp Bird Sanctuary.

The remains of an unusual pioneer settlement are preserved on the banks of the Estero River. In the late 19th century, a religious visionary named Cyrus Reed Teed took his followers to Koreshan to build a new Jerusalem. He hoped that it would become the home of 10 million people who practise the religion of the Koran.

The park has 60 wooded campsites and 12 pitches are reserved for tents located directly on the Estero River. Each pitch has electricity, water, barbecue tables and its own water supply to the park, as well as a fireplace and a picnic area.

For campers, a sewage disposal station is available, and a centrally located bathhouse has a whirlpool, shower cabin and toilet. Pets are allowed on the campsites overnight with current vaccinations and papers, but pets are not allowed on the campsite without current vaccination papers.

The park is bordered by the Estero River and flows into Esterso Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Next to the campsite there is a volleyball court, a communal fire circle is laid out and a large picnic area has a picnic table, picnic tables and picnic chairs and picnic benches.

The historic settlement of Koreshan is open daily and offers guided tours on weekends. There is a boat ramp and canoes can be rented for $5 per person or $10 for a group of up to 10 people.

There are several places along the river where you can fish, and freshwater perches can be found by paddling into the interior of the gulf. Estero Bay is located about 3 miles downstream from the canoe and the Esterso River is bounded by brackish water.

The bay is home to many species of fish, such as bottlenose dolphins, as well as a variety of birds, birds of prey and sea turtles. The bay, together with the Estero River and its tributaries, offers opportunities for wildlife observation and fishing.

The picnic area is located on the Estero River and is well shaded by pine trees. The toilets are located in the settlement between the picnic areas and the campsite.

Koreshan is located on the east side of the Estero River at the intersection of I-75 and US-41. The park borders a flat pine forest, and the boundaries of the park run through flat pine forests. It goes two miles west and crosses US 41, then continues south on I / 75 for about 1.5 miles until it crosses over US 40 and goes back another mile south.
